It took over a year and a half to substantiate my complaint against SunPointe AL with the Assisted Living Registrar due to SunPointe’s Management not forwarding 5 weeks of charting as well as other pertinent information to the ALR investigator. The initial story given by SunPointe management to the investigator was false and resulted in an ‘unsubstantiated’ finding for my complaint. I had to obtain my deceased mothers records through Freedom of Information to show the Registrar that mom’s Care Aides indeed charted serious concerns during the 5 weeks that the AL manager assured me mom was fine. The story given by management was not remotely accurate yet the files showing this were not forwarded to the investigator…again by management. The FOI shows my 97 y/o mom’s emaciated 71 lbs being discovered on a Wednesday and although the AL manager knew I was worried/waiting to here what mom weighed, I was not informed until Friday after I phoned twice leaving messages.
My complaint is now ‘substantiated’ and there is a high level summary on the ALR site that will remain for 5 years.
Although I was a Care Aide with Baptist Housing for 15 years and resigned due to this 10 years before retirement, I have Never received an apology nor been contacted by anyone from Baptist Housing regarding the now ‘substantiated’ complaint.
I do not recommend this place.
