Avis et retours
Note moyenne 1,0 basée sur 1 avisI test drove a recently traded-in Chevy Bolt at the Ford dealership on Veteran Memorial Parkway (Langford, BC).
• Initial Test Drive: Salesman Nic was present. I noted a grinding/whirling noise from the front end. Nic assured me the vehicle would go through the shop and that all issues would be addressed before the sale.
• Initial Deal: I negotiated a purchase agreement with salesman Nic, contingent on the vehicle being fully inspected, repaired, and made roadworthy.
• Shop Findings (Pre-Sale): The mechanic's report stated the car needed new brakes, new rotors all around, and two new front tires due to uneven, choppy wear.
• Purchase and Immediate Issue: I was assured the repairs were done and purchased the car without a second test drive. Driving home, I heard the same whirling/turbine noise again, which worsened with acceleration. I also noticed the brakes felt spongy.
• Second Inspection (Post-Sale): I contacted Colin, who scheduled a service appointment. The second work order listed a need for two new front tires and a four-wheel alignment, with no mention of the brakes despite them still feeling spongy.
• Management Response: Service Advisor Cassidy informed me that management determined the issues were not a safety risk and would not pay for the repairs. I contacted Nic once I received this response. He said he would get back to me, but I never heard back from Nic or anyone at Glenoak.
My Concerns Regarding Safety and Mechanics
Reliability of mechanics: Were the initial mechanic's findings — that the car required new brakes, rotors, and tires — accurate and reliable?
Safety risk: Are new brakes/rotors and severely worn (choppy) front tires not considered a safety concern? It appears Ford management at this location did not consider them as such.
Conclusion/Warning:
Potential buyers should be aware that management at the Ford dealership on Veteran Memorial Parkway may not prioritize addressing all safety-related repairs noted by their own mechanics.
